One of the final finishing steps to any custom retail clothing line is attaching a custom hang tag. Hang tags most common uses are for displaying price, garment size and showcasing a brand logo.

You may provide your own hang tags or we can assist you in producing your own custom hang tags.

Hang Tag Placement

Placement of your custom hang tag can vary depending on the garment. With t-shirts, we typically place it through the tag in the collar or under the armpit in the seam. The tool we use to attach hang tags can leave a small hole in the garment and so it is best to place it in a tag or through a seam in the neck line or armpit. With sweatshirts, jackets or other long sleeve garments, we place them in the collar tag, the armpit or at the bottom cuff of the sleeve. If you would like a custom placement, please let your account manager know.

Hang Tag Barbs

Hang tags are typically attached with a hang tag gun / fastener which attaches the hang tags with small plastic fastener. We typically use a white/clearish ones. They come in a few different lengths: 1/2″, 1″, 1″ Heavy Duty, 2″ &  3″. The 3″ versions also are available in red and black. We do not stock all styles so please let us know if you have a specific need. Additional fees may apply.

There are also 1.5″ & 2″ C-Hook styles available that are great for small items like socks, beanies, gloves, etc. that would best hang from a hook on a wall.

Retail Bar Codes

Larger retailers will generally require a scan-able bar code. This helps with inventories, speedier check outs and other valuable analytics the store may need down the road for determining stock levels, sales histories, etc.

We have years of experience working with big box retailers and can assist you in the process of adding bar-codes to your hang tags if needed.
